It’s the witching season and we’re leaning in. Pop on your favorite Stevie Nicks inspired tunic, grab your crystal balls, and join us for an evening of whimsical wines from Bodegas Clandestina, magical pizzas from our pals at Companion Pizza, and get your tarot read!

Ferran Lacruz farms 8 hectares of vines in Catalonia, in the small village of Sant Marti Sarroca, in the heart of the Penedès wine region. Ferran started this project with his first vintage of 2018. He works completely outside of any appellation, farms the grapes organically, and is not adding anything to any of the wines. All the grapes are hand-harvested, and nothing is filtered or fined. Ferran grew up in this part of Catalonia, and since being a small child was seduced by the landscape, natural beauty, and the importance of wine producing in the culture. He studied tourism in college, which left him feeling unfulfilled. So, with a friend, he began to embark on the journey of becoming a winemaker, looking to produce clean natural wines that express his homeland with honesty.

Join us as we taste through amazing wines of South Africa and Johnathan talks to us about biodynamics and slow winemaking! We’ll be pouring 4 of us his current wines and opening up some past vintages!

In 1997, John and Ginny Grieve purchased the Avondale Estate at the foot of the Klein Drakenstein mountains as their family farm. Their youngest son, Johnathan Grieve, took up the challenge of transforming this long-used land into a robust, balanced vineyard ecosystem that would ensure that Avondale will support the lives of future generations. The first vintage under the Avondale label was produced in 1999.

Avondale’s ethos, Terra Est Vita meaning ‘Soil is Life’, encapsulates Avondale Estate as a dynamic living system where soil, water and energy, plants, animals and people are part of a complex web of relationships and networks, interconnected and interdependent.

The picturesque 160-hectare farm that is today known as Avondale has been under cultivation for more than 300 years. Early records show that the land was one of the first in the Paarl valley to be allocated specifically for the production of wine grapes.

Sure, it’ll probably be hot a while longer but we’ll take any excuse we can to sip and slurp! As schools return and the nights start to cool off we figured we’d bid farewell to the dog days of summer with oysters on the half shell and some big ass bottles of Domaine Moreau-Naudet Chablis!

Although Stéphane Moreau passed in 2016, his wife Virginie and assistant winemaker continue to honor Stéphane's winemaking style and technique. Stéphane, who was influenced by Vincent Dauvissat, produced a bright, mineral driven, highly distinctive style of white Burgundies. A legend in his own right. The wines are made without intervention, using indigenous yeast, and are biodynamic and organic. Moreau-Naudet wines have tension, ripeness, vibrancy, and salinity - a perfect pairing oysters!

Chef will have some bangin’ house mignonette along with a fun “loaded” oyster option & ALL the wine and sake pairings! No tix required, grab your resos and come hang!

Join us for a unique experience as Oakley Wines goes offsite! Enjoy a cocktail hour with a carefully-curated cocktail experience, where you get to choose your own Greenacres-grown beverage garnishes, while the Greenacres Garden Team educates you on our gardening practices. The 4-course dinner menu features a selection of Greenacres meats and produce, ensuring each bite is fresh and full of local flavor. Each course will be paired with a specially-selected wine from Oakley Wines.

To compliment the sights of our summer garden, we recommend dressing in your Garden Party best!

Cocktail hour begins at 5:30 pm. Dinner service will begin at 6:30 pm.

Meet the Maker w/ Megan Bell of Margins Wines & Cookout! // Friday, July 5 @ 5pm-8pm

We’re keeping the American vibes rolling and welcoming Megan Bell of Margins Wines to come pour her awesome wines and cookout with us!

Margins is a winemaking endeavor of Megan Bell, a winemaker living and working in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Prior to settling on the central coast of California, Megan received her BS in Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis in 2012 and apprenticed in wineries and vineyards in Napa, the Livermore Valley, the Willamette Valley, Central Otago (NZ), and the Loire Valley (France).  She started Margins in 2016 with a modest crowdfunding campaign to create eight barrels of Chenin blanc. Margins now produces ~2800 cases annually of more than 20 wines.

Margins produces low-intervention wines using grapes from underrepresented regions, vineyards, and varietals. They make wines from organically farmed vineyards, using minimal additives during the winemaking process (SO2 only), and never employing the use of temperature control, fining, or filtration.

Much like people living on the 'margins of society,' vineyards can be outcasts too. Most consumers of wine are only familiar with a handful of grape growing regions and types of wine. Margins draws attention to vineyards and varietals throughout northern and central California that find themselves on the margins without the recognition they deserve.
